My name is Xavier, I’m 2 years old and I have a rare genetic disease,

little known in Europe: Late Infantile Krabbe’s Disease.

My parents took me along to the United States to see some specialists on this terrible disease. They affirm that I have a 70% chance to be saved by a Cord Blood transplant which may even repair some neurological damage.

I’m appealing to your good nature and generosity to help my parents out.

After a long and arduous hospitalization, I will have to live for a minimum of one year in complete isolation (no public places, no contact with other children...) with strict rules for the whole household.

To protect me my little brother (six months old) will have to undergo the same isolation as me and even be taken to stay with close relatives if he gets ill.

I live in an apartment at the moment and to improve our daily life, my little brother and I should move to a house with a garden to play in.

For the next several years our day care, my schoolwork, my physical and speech therapy, and even my distractions will all have to take place at home.

Despite the fact that I have the utmost confidence in Belgium to do the transplant which will in principle stop the disease but not get rid of it, and because this illness is not well known in Europe, I will still probably have to go back to America on a regular basis for evaluation where they look after children from all over the world.

My family will be grateful for anything you can afford to give.

Please leave your coordinates so that I can thank you personally.
